There's no doubt Los Angeles is a huge city. EAL/LA's endeavors to make it a little smaller. Our biggest portion of programming is dedicated to free to low-cost professional development and networking events.
Our professional development events typically occur once a month and range in topics from arts marketing to mentorship to recently published reports and feature arts professionals in a learning environment. Our goal with these events is to provide our members with invaluable advice and networking opportunities with "emerged" arts leaders active and respected in the Los Angeles arts community. We know meeting people is an important aspect of professional development, so our events maintain an open environment and afford opportunities to socialize with members, non-members, and panelists and speakers alike.
EAL/LA also hosts networking events, orchestrated specifically for social interaction. Mixers are hosted at various arts locations and often include a presentation from the locations staff specifically about the venue, in order to expose our members to resources and opportunities. Mixers are followed up by catered conversations or a short, casual walk to the nearest pub. Attend one of these events and meet a new friend!
EAL/LA's events are implemented by our volunteer-run Leadership Council. Volunteers are always needed for events. To volunteer, sign up here.
