Emerging Arts Leaders/Los Angeles seeks mentors for Protégé, its one-on-one professional development program.
Emerging Arts Leaders/Los Angeles (EAL/LA) prepares, educates, and inspires the next generation of arts sector leadership. EAL/LA develops free or low-cost programs, workshops, and networking opportunities for arts leaders across Los Angeles. We believe that these investments in the creative sector enrich and sustain the cultural ecology of Los Angeles.
Protégé offers members a personalized professional development opportunity by pairing emerging leaders with seasoned professionals and offering guidance through a series of meetings that enriches the careers of both participants. For mentors, this is not only an opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of the sector but to engage in cross-generational dialogue and learning.
The Protégé program will begin in late March, concluding in December. Throughout the year, pairs meet to discuss their careers, opportunities or may work on a project together. Pairs arrange their own sessions; a mixture of in-person, phone, video conference or other meeting methods are encouraged for the convenience of both participants. Monthly meetings/check-ins are recommended.
EAL/LA anticipates that mentors will need to devote a couple of hours a month to the program. There will be a private initial launch event as well as a culminating public program with the broader EAL/LA membership during fall 2018.
